2. Trend & Structure Assessment

The dominant trend on the 1d is still up, and that fact is doing most of the work here. The mid-August V-reversal (62,711 → 79,559 in four sessions) broke the ten-month downtrend from the $126,150 October-2025 high, and since then price has refused to give back structure: it sits above every meaningful daily average, holds +10.3% over the 200-day SMA, and prices 74–79% of the way up its 30/60/90/180-day ranges. The EMA50 (72,847) has caught the EMA200 (72,900) and is closing on it within days. On the weekly, MACD histogram is still expanding (+2,441 vs +2,435 a week ago) with RSI ~55 after a recovery from 37.5 — the medium-term impulse has not been broken, only paused.

What broke is the short-term trajectory. Since the 09-03 high of 82,277, every rebound has been sold into a lower high: 81,399 → 80,523 → 80,413 → 79,472 → 79,744 → 78,537 → 79,910. That descending supply line, plus lows of 76,199 → 76,394 → 75,903, defines a nine-session 7.8% consolidation with a mild downward bias inside it. The decisive event was 09-11: a two-sided outside day that swept the prior week's low (75,903 < 76,257), violently reclaimed it, spiked 4% to 79,910 to break the descending line — and then handed back 69% of the entire leg to close 77,179. That is a liquidity event, not a trend event: it cleared the weak hands at the bottom and tested the ceiling at the top in one print, on the largest volume of the range.

Multi-timeframe there is genuine divergence, and it is instructive rather than fatal. The 4h is a clean bear stack (close 77,179 < EMA20 77,759 < EMA50 78,280, RSI 40.6) — the correction is fully expressed there. The 1d is a bull stack under correction (RSI turning up off 52.8, price testing EMA20). The 1w is the battleground: price is 0.6% below weekly EMA52 (77,663) and 1.2% below weekly EMA100 (78,202), i.e. the market is parked exactly on the multi-year mean it has not been able to hold. That is why 78,000–79,900 is the most contested zone on the chart, and it coincides with the 30-day volume profile's heaviest nodes (77,500 / 78,000 / 78,500).

3. Momentum & Volume Analysis

Momentum is fading in the primary sense but stabilizing at the margin. The daily MACD histogram has been negative for eight bars and is still deepening, but the rate of decay collapsed: −109 → −140 → −261 → −394 → −497 → −674 → −736. The second derivative has turned. RSI ticked up (52.8 → 54.9) and daily stochastics printed at 20 — washed out from 88 — which is a reset, not a breakdown. Crucially, ADX is rolling over (47.8 → 45.3) while +DI (28.8) remains more than double −DI (13.3): that combination is the signature of trend exhaustion into range, not a bearish regime change. A true top would show −DI crossing and ADX re-expanding.

Volume tells the more cautious story. Over the last 10 sessions, up-day volume is only 0.67× down-day volume and OBV shed ~110k BTC; the 20-day ratio (0.91) and 40-day OBV (+319k) show that the earlier leg was accumulation but the current chop is quietly distributive. And the 09-11 squeeze was not funded by new money: Bybit OI fell from 56,139 → 53,656 BTC during the 12:00–16:00 window that produced the 79,910 high (Binance mirrored it, 106.6k → 104.0k), and taker buy/sell never turned above 1.0. A 4,000-point round trip financed entirely by position closing is a stop hunt in both directions. Into the Saturday Asia session volume has gone to zero (894 BTC in the first hour, 0.01× the daily norm), so there is currently no bid defending anything above EMA20 — the recovery in RSI has yet to be validated by price taking a single level.

4. Risk & Context

The thesis fails cleanly and cheaply to detect: a daily close below 75,903 (the sweep low, with the 20d Donchian floor at 75,
